Training and Education

Education Background

I completed my Medical Laboratory Science certificate at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. As I worked full-time shift work, I completed my Bachelor of Health Administration at Ryerson University in Toronto.

I am currently a student at Athabasca University, working towards a Masters in Health Studies.

Additional Courses

I have an adult teaching certificate from Michener Institute. Teaching is my passion, although I would increasingly consider it mentorship as I develop leaders behind me.

I am a strong advocate for workplace safety. I act as the backup co-chair for my hospitals Joint Health and Safety Committee. I am also an instructor at my organization for Workplace Violence and Prevention. To date, I have taught over 100 patient facing staff members Crisis Intervention theory and physical techniques.

Professional Memberships

I am a member of The Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science. I also have a membership with The College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO), which is the provincial regulatory body for Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs).

As a member of the CMLTO, I also sit on Registration Committee as a non-council committee member. I enjoy having a voice in the training standards, supervision, and registration of current and future MLTs.
